DatStat’s Research Management System (RMS)

DatStat’s Research Management System (RMS) is a scalable solution designed to improve the quality and efficiency of complex health and social science research.  DatStat’s RMS is a secure and comprehensive system designed to streamline study management, participant management, data capture, aggregation, and reporting within and across complex research studies.

As a web-based application, the RMS provides a single, secure point of access for your study team.  The RMS supports centralized studies and multi-site collaborative research efforts. Designed by researchers with usability in mind, the RMS is easy to configure to your study protocol and flexible enough to support a wide range of study workflows including clinical trials, intervention trials, and mixed-mode longitudinal studies.  As an enterprise research solution, the RMS can be implemented across an institution and supports multiple studies and multiple study arms within a study.  Role-based access and privileges allow your RMS administrator to tightly control each user’s level of access while the intuitive and user-friendly design of the RMS enables these Users to access the necessary functions within the RMS to quickly and efficiently carry out their study responsibilities.  

Integrated with the Illume™ technology for electronic data capture (eCRFs and interviewer- or self-administered surveys), DatStat’s RMS offers unsurpassed ability to support all aspects of your research study or research program.  Whereas the Illume application focuses on survey form development and data capture, management, and transformation. The RMS adds an integrated application that extends these capabilities by automating your research protocol at the study, participant and survey level.  The end result is notable time, cost efficiencies, and as well as improved participant retention and better adherence to study protocol.  

Through DatStat’s RMS, you can track study related information (e.g., scheduled assessments, scheduled visits, contact logs, outcome status, etc) for all participants within a single study or across multiple studies.  A visually appealing and easy to use interface enables Users to view and query these data in ways that are meaningful for each project.

The highly versatile RMS is configurable to the specific needs of individual projects and supports activities such as:

• Adding participants via bulk upload or one-by-one
• Sampling and random assignment
• Case management through multi-phase, multi-mode and/or multi-site study protocols
• Scheduling appointments (in-person visits or telephone contacts)
• Recording and tracking all study contacts (e.g., calls, visits, emails, mailings) and associated outcome status
• Entering and tracking contact information, address histories and locator information for all participants
• Providing a single point of access for all Users (e.g., research coordinators, interviewers, clinicians, participants, etc)
• Administrative functions, including adding and managing Users, assigning roles and privileges, adding and configuring new studies, etc.
• Reporting on overall study protocol and participant status.

Unlike other research and clinical trial management systems, DatStat offers robust systems for data capture and study and participant management.  Built on the .Net platform and offering an open architecture, well-documented API and add-on Software Development Kit, DatStat provides customers with maximum flexibility for integrating its technology with other systems in your organization.

Discovery Interfaces

Discovery can be accessed using all major web browsers (including Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari [mobile and non-mobile versions], and Google Chrome).

• DatStat Enterprise Manager - Users with the appropriate Roles can Manage/Create all studies to which they have access, Create Users/User Groups, Sites and Site Groups, add additional From Email Addresses, Create Custom User Roles and Participant Lists. See Default User Roles

• Discovery Study Designer - Users with the Study Administrator Role will configure a study, set up study workflow, define participant list columns, and access general study management.
